Launceston is a major town in the north of Tasmania with over 100,000 residents, and is home to many historic buildings and beautiful public parks. There are several free exhibits, events, and activities in winter that are not to be missed.


Skateboarding Australia

Skateboarding Australia Streetwise is a free national program open to anyone who wants to learn to ride a skateboard. There will be a 2 hour session on the 15th of June 2013 at Royal Park in Launceston. Enquiries: (07) 5575 7808, [email protected]

Art Gallery

The Art Gallery of Launceston Winter Program includes guided tours. On Sunday June the 9th at 2pm, there will be a tour by Di Whitemore about the painter W.B. Gould. The Art Gallery is at Royal Park is at 2 Wellington Street, Launceston. Enquiries:

Phenomena Factory is an interactive science centre at Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery in Launceston at 2 Invernay Road Invernay, and entry is free.
