Light in Winter, Federation Square
Don't stay indoors this Winter - rug up and enjoy free family friendly outdoor events!

1. Light In Winter
Celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Federation Square's Light In Winter Festival. Held from June 2nd to July 17th, enjoy free exhibitions, showcases, talks and screen programs.

Be sure to join in the fun at the Solstice on Saturday 18th June, and celebrate mid-winter with light, music, dance, and food. A family friendly FREE event.

2. Winter Night Market
Head to Queen Victoria Market Winter Night Market and enjoy a mid week night of shopping, eating, drinking, and entertainment.

Buy arts, crafts and fashion produced and designed by local artists, taste mouth watering dishes from around the world, sip on winter warmer drinks, and dance to soulful rhythms of jazz to energetic gypsy.

Shop, eat, drink, and be merry, every Wednesday, from June 1st through to August 31st, 5-10pm.

3. StArtUp: Top Arts 2016
StArtUp: Top Arts 2016 presents forty-two outstanding work by students who have completed Art or Studio Arts for the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), in a diversity of media, including painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography, video and sound.

Providing insight into young people's ideas, thinking and creative practices, selected material will be on display, and folios will be available for viewing by appointment.

View the exhibition at Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia, Federation Square, 10:00-17:00 daily, until July 10th.

4. Opening Celebration, Melbourne International Jazz Festival
To celebrate the opening of the Melbourne International Jazz Festival, head to the Main Stage at Federation Square, for a free preview of what's on offer at this year's festival.

On Saturday 4 June, starting at 1.30p, this free open-air concert will have jazz lovers dancing in the square to a sample of the Festival's most exciting acts.

With the full line-up of acts yet to be announced, the concert will feature Monash University Brazilian Jazz Ensemble and Monash University Latin Jazz Ensemble.
