1) Turning on the Christmas Lights - 14th November 2014


Highlighting the start of the Festival of Christmas, come along to watch Santa help the Lord Mayor turn on the switch in Forrest Place and view the Christmas lights and decorations at their debut opening on Friday, 14th of November 2014. This free event will wow the whole family with over 100,000 Christmas lights and decorations.

2) Beaufort Street Festival - 15th November 2014

Held on the 15th of November, celebrate the vitality of Beaufort Street with this large street event. A day filled with music and laughter, treat yourself to six stages, 35 bands, over 100 stalls and talented artists. Starting at 12pm and ending at 9pm, this free event is not to be missed. The festival includes the Laneway Project, transforming a suburban Laneway into a magnificent work of art, continuing to an evening event called Secret Walls where artists are given a large blank white canvas, black paint and markers and told to create a work of art within 90 minutes. Fashion lovers will have a behind the scenes glimpse at a live fashion photoshoot and there are plenty of food and drink stalls to keep your appetite at bay. If you are game, join the crowd at 4.40pm to attempt one of the world's longest Mexican waves along the entire length of the festival strip. 3) Park Run - 15th November onwards



With summer nearing, come out and enjoy the fresh air with other people of various ages and fitness levels. Parkrun is a weekly timed 5km run coordinated by the City of Perth with Parkrun Australia. This is a fantastic opportunity to increase your wellbeing, experience the great outdoors and meet new friends. You are invited to run, walk, push a pram or even bring your dog. The runs are usually held on Saturdays in a number of venues. If you live in East Perth, the run starts from Claisebrook Cove, East Perth and it is free to join but registration is required. Other venues include Canning River, Lake Joondalup and Carine Glades.
4) Perth City Christmas Markets - 22nd November 2014

Just a month from Christmas, the yearly long awaited Perth City Christmas markets will be held at Forrest Place, Murray Street Perth from Saturday the 22nd of November 10am to Sunday 23rd of November 2014 at 4pm.

This is the perfect time to pick and choose unique gifts for your loved ones. If you are into Perth local designers, you will be spoilt by choice with 40 stalls with a range of products from fashion to accessories, art and lots more.
5) Mindarie Festival 2014 - 23rd November 2014

Located 36kms north of Perth CBD in the City of Wanneroo, Mindarie is a delightful coastal suburb with free family entertainment on Sunday, the 23rd of November 2014.

Your kids will have plenty of activities to entertain them ranging from a cuddly animal farm to a bouncy castle, a craft area and face painting. There are also wandering entertainers, a variety of arts and crafts stalls and live music on two stages to wrap up a fantastic day. Proof, Adam Garrett, Darren Reid and Clayton Bolger are set to perform live on both the boat courtyard stage and the indi brew stage. The event will be held at Ocean Falls Boulevard, Mindarie.
