Canberra Nara Candle Festival

This event is a celebration of Canberra's sister city Nara, Japan. Enjoy entertainment, food and cultural activities, with a display of 2000 candles in the evening. Japanese handicrafts will also be on sale.

The event is to be held on the 26th of October 2013 from 5pm to 9pm in Lennox Gardens, Canberra Nara Park, Flynn Drive, Yarralumla, ACT. Enquiries: 13 2281, [email protected]

Mapping Our World: Terra Incognita to Australia

This exhibition has a range of maps that inspired the European idea of Australia, from ancient and medieval notions of a great south land to Matthew Flinders' map of the continent.



The exhibition runs from the 7th of November 2013 until the 10th of March 2014, and is open daily from 10am to 5pm apart from Christmas Day and Good Friday. It will be held at the National Library of Australia, Parkes Place, Parkes, ACT. Enquiries: (02) 6262 1111.

Tuggeranong Festival 2013

The main theme of this festival on the 23rd of November 2013 is "bringing the community together". The event runs from 11am to 9.30pm, at Tuggeranong Park, ACT. There will be an awards ceremony, stalls, and attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic and picnic blanket.
