Fringe World has been bringing its eclectic mix of culture and entertainment to the streets of Perth for years – entertaining and wowing the crowds through performers, artists and comedians.

But did you know Fringe World is not just for adults? With over 40 events happening for children, including a number of free events, Fringe World is a haven for the kids too. Here are the top free events for kids at Fringe World in 2017.

Seaside Magic With the Eco Faeries
The kids will love taking part in this creative crafty activity as the Eco Faeries guide them through making their own recycled tambourine.

Date: Sunday, 22nd January to Wednesday, 25th January 2017.
Age range: All ages.
Fringe Location: Sunset Verandah – Under the Sky, Brighton Reserve, The Esplanade, Scarborough.

Uke-A-Loony
Clowns and ukuleles and a very stupid problem and an even more stupid solution? This weird little production will show the kids that it's ok to be well, weird.

Date: Saturday, 11th February to Sunday, 19th February 2017.
Age range: All ages.
Fringe Location: Paper Mountain, 267a William Street, Northbridge

Pirates!! – Me Hearties
Arrgghhhh! This choose your own adventure is led by Captain Boots and Redbeard – the kids will have the chance to dress up as pirates and let their imagination run wild.

Note: This event is 'pay as you feel' – while it is free, the actors and performers rely on donations and tips from the public.

Date: Saturdays and Sundays from Saturday 21st January to Sunday, 5th February 2017.
Age Range: Ages five and over.
Fringe Location: Sensory Playground at the WA Museum, Perth Cultural
Cost: Free, but participants (or rather parents) are encouraged to pay the artists a tip or donation.

Little Pleasures
Fringe World will host a heap of free and interactive activities for little kids which are sure to amaze and immerse little minds through fun and play.

Date: Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd January 2017.
Age Range: Toddlers to 10 year olds.

Make your own Balloonie Ball
Make your own what? A Balloonie Ball is suitable for juggling, squeezing, throwing and catching, made under the watchful eye of the Balloonies.

Date: Saturday, 21st January 2017.
Age Range: Ages four and over.

Fringeworld Mermaids
Want to see a REAL MERMAID? They will be appearing right here in Perth. Submersing each night in a giant tank, the kids will be amazed and mesmerised by these Fringe favourites.

Date: Every night from 20th January to 19th February 2017.

Rhythm House
Clap, sing and dance and be silly (I'm looking at you, parents) in this interactive concert for kids.

Date: Friday, 27th to Sunday, 29th January 2017.
