Everyone loves the idea of getting something for nothing - so it's fabulous news that some of Perth's top attractions have free entry days.

Some places have designated free entry days for categories of visitors, such as seniors and servicemen and women whilst others offer special deals that allow free entry after a certain number of visits. Some offer free entry for kids under a certain age - whilst others even open their doors to the general public without any restrictions!

Some attractions have set times when they don't charge visitors and they advertise their 'free entry days' on the websites whilst others take a more ad hoc approach, so it's always a good idea to phone them ahead of your visit to see if there's a special deal on the go.

Some places like the Art Gallery of WA are free to visit every day but they do ask for a voluntary donation, whilst other tourist hot-spots like Whiteman Park, the Perth Mint and Fremantle Prison offer free entry to some of their main areas whilst requiring payment for additional tours and facilities.

Here are some of the top attractions which offer great free deals:

The Perth Zoo
Servicemen and women, including allied servicemen and women, are entitled to free entry to this much-loved attraction every ANZAC Day. All they need to do is wear their uniform on the day or present their service ID or veterans' card. The zoo also offers free entry to all mothers on Mothers' Day - making it one of the top places to visit in Perth for families on this special day.

Scitech
This interactive science museum which includes a planetarium is a favourite among kids and adults who are fascinated by finding out more about how the world works. Their free entry days aren't set in stone, but they do have ad hoc 'no-fee' deals advertised on their website, so it's worth checking in regularly. The next free entry opportunity is for teachers between 14 and 18 January 2019. Kids under the age of four are allowed into Scitech free EVERY day.

AQWA
Australia's largest single aquarium, AQWA showcases WA's spectacular marine life through an amazing underwater adventure. Children 3 years and under are always free.

West Australian Maritime Museum
Perched on the Indian Ocean's shore, the WA Maritime Museum is symbolic of Fremantle's past, present and future as a coastal city and port. Children up to the age of 15 are free every day, and the second Tuesday of every month offers free admission for all visitors.
