If you love tennis and the whole exhilarating atmosphere of the Australian Open, then you can still be part of it without having to pay for tickets.

During the Australian Open Qualifying Tournaments, from the 8-11 of January, entrance to Melbourne Park is free. This is prior to the main championships and is for the men's and women's singles. These are on the outside courts.



For those who like their tennis stats:

The Men's Singles draw includes 128 players, including up to nine wildcards. There are 16 spots in the Men's Singles draw available for qualifiers.

The Women's Singles draw includes 128 players, including up to nine wildcards. There are 16 spots in the Women's Singles draw available for qualifiers.

Practice matches to be placed in match like conditions will be played on Margaret Court Arena during Qualifying. Entry to these matches is free. Practice match schedule below.
9 January: 2:00 – 4:00pm
10 January: 3:00 – 5:00pm
11 January: 3:00 – 5:00pm & 5:30 - 7:30pm

While not a free event Kids Tennis Day is on 12 January from 8:30 am- 4: 30 pm and it is a chance to take your kids to the tennis relatively cheaply. Adults tickets are $25, Kids aged 3 – 14 tickets are $5.

There will be face painting, waterpark activities and stage shows featuring entertainment characters including Peppa Pig, PJ MASKS, Octonauts and more.

There will be live performances by Australian ARIA award-winning singer, Guy Sebastian.& #8232 ;



Kids can participate in Tennis Hot Shots, using scaled nets, racquets and low-compression balls, which make playing tennis fun and easy. For tickets, click here.
