Keep the kids entertained for free these school holidays
These Easter School Holidays do not break the bank and keep the kids indoors nagging and driving you mad!

The list below is all free activities and ideas to do to keep the kids and the whole family satisfied these school holidays:

1. Scavenger Hunt Adventure
When: Anytime
Where: Any National Park, Gardens or outdoor area near you!
Details: This activity is guaranteed to keep the kids entertained hours on end! All you need to do is print off the scavenger hunt list and head down to your local national park, parks near your area even your very own background and let the kids find the treasures on the list... Click here for the Scavenger Hunt List (Print this out & give the kids a tote bag to put the collections in for extra entertainment)

2. Picnic in the Park
When: Sunrise to sunset
Where: Anywhere at any park near your area
Details: Let the kids run wild and experience the different playground equipment. This is the perfect idea for the little ones to release their energy and have some great family quality time.



3. Daisy Hill Koala Centre
When: Open daily: 10am-4pm
Where: Daisy Hill Conservation Park, Hill Rd, Daisy Hill
Details: With 435 hectares of open eucalyptus forest, this is the perfect way to spend the school holidays. With koala sightings guaranteed and the walkways are suitable for prams/ strollers and wheelchairs, it is a great free outdoor experience. There are numerous picnic tables & BBQs (bring a picnic), there is plenty of space to throw a ball or frisbee and many walking trails to be explored

4. Calamvale District Park
When: Sunrise to sunset
Where: Formby St, Calamvale
Details: There is a range of different play equipment designed for all ages and abilities. Flying foxes, the giant enclosed slide, bike paths, various spinning play pieces, and walking trails are just some of the activities to be enjoyed here. Pack a picnic and enjoy the BBQ facilities on site. There is also an enclosed dog park and plenty of bench seats scattered throughout.

5. The Corner at The State Library
When: Everyday- 10am - 3pm
Where: State Library of Queensland, Stanley Place, South Brisbane
Details: There are plenty of free activities at The Corner with activities ranging from paper crafts, puppets, dress-up costumes, projection equipment to display exhibitions, computers with games, books, art workshops, cooking workshops, yoga and plenty more...



6. J C Slaughter Falls
When: Sunrise to sunset
Where: Sir Samuel Griffith Drive, Mt Coot-tha (follow signs to picnic grounds and walks)
Details: Located in the Mt Coot-tha Reserve in Brisbane's west, J C Slaughter Falls is the perfect school holiday activity with great walks, lagoon, lookouts, and picnic grounds. It is a great way to get the kids out of the house and enjoy the great outdoors.

7. Aquativity at Southbank
When: Open daily 7am-7pm
Where: Stanley Plaza, South Bank Visitor Centre, South Brisbane
Details: This interactive water park is a great way to keep the kids entertained. There are fountains, water features, decorative elements, water cycles, and plenty more. BBQ facilities available and there is also a cafe on site.



8. Brisbane Botanic Gardens
When: Daily: 8am- 5pm
Where: Mt Coot-tha Rd, Toowong
Details: The 52 hectare gardens are the perfect way to spend quality family time with a picnic, playing games such a frisbee or ball games, exploring the wonders of the gardens and plenty more activities to be enjoyed at the Brisbane Botanic Gardens.

9. Wynnum Wading Pool and Waterpark
When: Sunrise to sunset
Where: Wynnum Esplanade, Wynnum
Details: The pool and adjoining playground is a much-loved destination especially with families, making it the ultimate family day out! The pool fills up with sea water at high tide and is the perfect spot for the kids to splash around and have fun without venturing off into the open water. There are BBQ'S and picnic tables.

10. Cleveland Point Park
When: Anytime
Where: Cleveland Point Park, 237 Shore Street North, Cleveland Point
Details: Everywhere you look there is water, making it feel like you are on an island. This is a great day out for the kids with stunning scenery, a little park to enjoyed, viewing points, lookouts and of course the main feature being The Lighthouse! There is also a boat ramp.
