A stay at home Mum who doesn't stay at home much; too many exciting things to be discovering in this city...
It's an Easter Egg-stravaganza
There are lots of fun activities for kids happening at Southland Shopping Centre these school holidays – and the best thing about them is that they're all free! No bookings are required, so you can turn up whenever the weather is conspiring against you without having to plan in advance.
In the first week of the holidays – Mon 8th until Fri 12th April – See Make Play are hosting five days of Easter-tastic art and craft. There will be a different craft activity on offer each day from 11am until 2pm. These include decorating your own set of adorable bunny ears, creating some egg-cellent paper mache Easter eggs and making easter bon-bons. These craft sessions will all be held outside Toy World on level 2.
In the second week of the holidays – Mon 15th until Thurs 18th April (and also Sat 20th) – the Wiggle World Zone will be set up in Centre Court on level 1, near David Jones. This is one not to miss for any little wiggly fans. There will be a variety of different zones in the Wiggles themed space, including story-telling, ballet and craft. Also during this week, the Easter Bunny himself will be appearing throughout the shopping centre between 11am and 2pm each day. If you can track him down you may well find yourself in possession of some egg-citing, tasty treats.
The Sushi Hub is also hosting an awesome workshop where kids get to make their own sushi rolls. This activity is only on offer on Wednesday 17th April between 10am and 2.30pm. Turn up outside Toy World and your little ones can learn how to make and roll their own sushi – and then eat it!
If you want to extend (egg-stend?!) your visit, consider a side trip to one of the other kid-friendly venues within the centre. There's Village Cinema on level 2 where you can catch one of the latest kids' flicks (try out VJunior for a really fun movie experience). Not far from the cinemas is Time Zone which will satisfy any arcade fans, and of course there's a great choice of eateries either in the Food Court on level 3, or from the plethora of restaurants and cafes outside the cinema.
There's tons of fun to be had, so hop on over to Southland and get in on the action.
