The Remix on Saturday night attracted a big crowd at The Improv Conspiracy Theatre new studio space in Meyers Place in Melbourne's CBD. With three free shows a night throughout the whole Melbourne Fringe Festival, there's plenty of time to participate in a night of spontaneous and improvised storytelling, and book your free ticket, to avoid seat envy.
Damian Callinan was the guest storyteller (i.e. Mixologist) on Saturday night, sharing a few truthful tales remixed by The Improv Conspiracy Theatre. From his teaching days in Darwin to stories of his childhood football team, Callinan was on fire, as the master mixologist and storyteller, giving the keen ensemble plenty of material to remaster for a hungry audience. From Friday nights in the hospital emergency department to hen's nights with a corpse bride, no pebble of an idea was left unturned, as the audience dissolved into laughter and suspense, as to how the ensemble would interpret the story next.
The Improv Conspiracy Theatre now has a permanent home in Meyers Place, just next door to the Loop Bar, with studio hire available, with discount rates for artists, which is great support for the independent theatre community.
Performing Thursday to Saturday nights all year round, The Improv Conspiracy Theatre provides a home for sketch comedy, with opportunities to learn from the comedy greats.
