Early bird gets a free work-week of coffees and the cup
The coffee will be provided by Guylian and Fratelli Fresh in the Pitt St Mall entrance, which is between Nespresso and Zara. But not only free coffee but a free Frank Green SmartCup will also be given out. These usually retail from around $30–35.
The idea is to have sustainable start to the New Year and to continue on throughout the year.
At the moment, the regular take-away cups that we all use have a waterproof plastic film, which means they can't be recycled and Australians toss out around a billion of them a year.
The Frank Green keep cup is an Australian invention created in Melbourne. The reusable cups are made from BPA-free, non-toxic materials and are stylish as they come in a number of great dual colours. They also spill-proof (no more messing up your car) and you can operate them with one hand. Great when you are in crowds and drinking your coffee on the way to work.
But the great thing for people on the run is that they fitted out with a device that allows you not only to pay for your coffee but also to pre-order it.
The free cups are limited to 800 but that is still quite a stash. You are limited to one free SmartVup per customer. If you already have a reusable cup, you're also eligible for free coffee.
Or pick up one early in the week, then your morning coffee is covered for that working week.
The caveat is that you do have to pledge, via a social media post (and this is a super easy process) to stick with your new non-disposable cup and give up buying disposables. But that's a good thing for the environment right?
