Xmas movies under the stars @ South Bank & Roma St Parkland
Christmas movies in Brisbane this festive season will be twice as nice as previous years, but don't worry, it doesn't mean they'll be twice the price. As part of Brisbane City's program of Christmas events - Oh, What Fun it Is - not one, but two venues will now be hosting FREE Christmas family movies outdoors and under the stars.
Previously all the Christmassy cinematic action has been centred on South Bank's Streets Beach but in 2016 Roma Street Parkland will also be a festive focal point. Christmas Movies in the Park in the lovely surrounds of Roma Street Parkland Amphitheatre will serve up a selection of family favourites for all ages to enjoy.
The program runs from Saturday 10 to Friday 16 December, kicking off with food trucks serving up delicious festive fare from 5.30pm, with movies lighting up the big screen at 7pm.
Below is the full program:
Saturday 10 December: Arthur Christmas Sunday 11 December: Dr Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas Monday 12 December: Love Actually Tuesday 13 December: Miracle on 34th Street (1947) Wednesday 14 December: Elf Thursday 15 December: Santa Clause Friday 16 December: Search for Santa Paws
Christmas Beach Cinema at Streets Beach, South Bank, will be back again, giving you the option to spread out on the lawn with a picnic rug or enjoy your Christmas classics from the water.
Christmas Beach Cinema runs from 16 to 23 December 2016 and there's a double deal in store for Brisbane families, with two movies playing on the big screen every evening of the program. One movie will screen at 6pm, so those with younger children can still have an early night, and then at 8pm another selection will entertain those who can linger a little longer. You can even choose to stay for both.
