Preparing for Christmas and the celebrations that follow can be daunting, as you need to pre-book and arrange events way in advance to avoid being disappointed with 'fully booked' or forgetting an event date.
Below are the top Christmas Events for this year that the whole family can enjoy and you are guaranteed not to miss out with the following 'early bird' notice.
1. Christmas on the Green
When: 27 November 2014: 6pm-8:30pm Where: Hyde Park North Details: Plenty of entertainment for both little ones and adults, there is heaps of space to spread out (perfect for families with little ones), craft activities, sausage sizzle, gelato,$2 Santa Stocking jam-packed with goodies (proceeds going to charity Australian Children's Music Foundation), and fireworks.
2. Martin Place Children's Concert & Tree Lighting Celebrations When: 27 November 2014: 6pm-8:30pm Where: Martin Place, Sydney Details: Free night of lively entertainment and to witness the City's annual Christmas tree lighting by Santa and the Lord Mayor.
When: 27 November 25 December 2014: 8:30pm-1am
Where: George St, Sydney
Details: The city lights up and becomes magical with images coming alive and special guest performances.
5. Darling Harbour Christmas
When: 24 November 24 December 2014
Where: Darling Harbour, Sydney
Details: For one whole month Darling Harbour transforms into a celebration of all things Santa! Activities include Santa Movies Under the Stars, fireworks, carols, paddle boat rides on the bay, colouring competition for the little ones, Variety Santa Fun Run and much more. 6. Christmas Celebrations Parramatta

7. Carols in the Park - Campbelltown
When: 13 December 2014: 5pm-9:30pm
Where: Koshigaya Park, Cnr Camden Rd & Hurley St, Campbelltown
Details: The night kicks off with the family festival filled with free activities such as face painting, giant slide and adventure playgrounds, Bbq fundraiser, foods and drinks available throughout the evening do not forget to bring the picnic blanket, Carols begin at 7:30pm followed by a bang of fireworks!
8. Community Christmas Tree Lighting - Penrith
When: 7 November 2014: 3pm-10pm
Where: Pop Up Park, Penrith
Details: See the 6 foot Christmas Tree, plenty of market stalls to browse along, food stalls, performances including The Penrith City Choir, Santa Show at 8pm and plenty more entertainment.
9. Whalan Festival & Carols - Whalan (near St Marys)
