With the magic of Christmas quickly creeping up on us, lets have a look at the list of Christmas sparkle events that Brisbane is playing host to his year, from November, through to January.

A couple of really special nights include the kicking off on 29th of November at 6.30pm is the Lighting of the Brisbane City Christmas Tree at King George Square. Come along and join Brisbane's Lord Mayor Graham Quirk, see Santa, and watch the Christmas lights sparkle in this annual tradition. While you will get to see the twinkling of the lights, you will also share in the joy of some carol singing. (More information on this in the list below)

Another special night and for the very first time ever on the 13th December at 6.30pm, the Gold Lotto City Hall Light Spectacular will bring this amazing building to life with magical lights and moments that share in the spirit of Christmas.

Now, let us take a look at the list, to see the run-down for the rest of Brissie's free and fun Christmas events;

8 November to 24 December - Santaland
 @ Brisbane Myer Centre. Your kids will love you if you take them to ride the locomotive train, have their photo taken and of course visit Santa, and perhaps they might just like to send a letter to the North Pole via post or email.

8 November to 5 January - Myer Brisbane City Christmas Windows
Christmas themed window displays at Myer, a real visual treat to liven your sight senses.

16 Nov to 24 December, Santa at David Jones @ QueensPlaza

16 to 17 November, 10am to 3pm -
David Jones Family Christmas Weekend @ QueensPlaza

This weekend will feature some special in-store fun with some activities including face painting for children, storytellers, some festive art displays and more.

Street Corner Carollers  @ various City street corners

Hear the singing sounds of Silent Night or Jingle Bell Rock on various street corners throughout Brisbane in the mornings at 8.30am and 9am. What a lovely way for little angels to bring joy to your mornings.

29 November to 24 December -
Christmas Music Showcase @ centre of Queen St Mall

Let music performances in the heart of the Queen Street Mall fill you with afternoon joy, with most performances generally starting at 4.30pm.

10 & 17 December, 11am and 3pm -
The Nutcracker Storytelling & Doll Making Workshop @ Brisbane City Hall

Bookings essential for this children's and adult's doll making workshop with Queensland Ballet (lots of fun with making costumes),

13 December, 4pm to 9pm -
BrisStyle Indie Twilight Christmas Market @ King George Square

Wander through the stalls featuring hand made crafts and pick up some last minute, unique Christmas gifts.

13 to 22 December -
Myer Christmas Parade & Pantomime 6.30pm @ Queen St Mall & King George Square

Fun for all of the family with this parade starting off in Edward Street (corner of the Queen Street Mall), led by Queensland Ballet Dancer Teri Crilly in her role as Clara, from the Nutcracker. Expect songs, dance and lots of fun

13 to 24 December,@7.30pm - Gold Lotto City Hall Light Spectacular 7.30pm @ King George Square
A not to be missed event that makes an appearance for the first time ever on Brisbane's magnificent City Hall. "See Brisbane's grand dame as you have never seen her before – agleam and aglow with the magic and beauty of Christmas"
Christmas characters, movement and spurs of colour will part of this 'show time' event.

13 to 24 December @6.30pm -
Bright Star, Christmas at South Bank @ River Quay, South Bank

Free live performances by some bright young stars, Harrison Craig and Luke Kennedy from The VOICE, 2013. Get your family and friends together, take some picnic rugs and find a comfortable spot to settle in for the evening's entertainment.

13 to 24 December - The City Sounds Christmas Up Late @ Queen St Mall
Original artists and free to enjoy entertainment. Mostly evenings starting at 7pm, with performances following at both 8pm and 9pm.

14 December - IGA Lord Mayor's Carols in The City 5.30pm @ Riverstage, City Botanic Gardens
For this event, you will be entertained by hosts Georgina Lewis and Josh Holt, with appearing headline artists include Paulini, Jack Vidgen, Silvie Paladino, Mark Lowndes, and more. Again, pack a picnic rug and find yourself a spot.

20 December, World By Night @ Reddacliff Place 6pm to 10pm
Be entertained with music, sound and dance by a world of cultures, including African drumming and Agentine tango
