Celebrate National Children's Week

Queensland Children's Week begins with a free Children's Festival at Mount Coot-tha Botanical Gardens, Toowong. Youth Ambassadors, and Junior Masterchef Twins, Isabella and Sofia Bliss will officially launch the festival and Queensland Children's Week in a ceremony at the Botanical Gardens Band Stand at 11am, Sunday October 21st.

The Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens will host an entertaining program just for children from 10am - 3pm, including a Brass Band, Bumbles the Clown, Smartypants the Clown, Barnyard Animals, face painting, balloon sculpture, eco-puppets, Charlie the Cockatoo, African drumming, storytelling, arts and crafts. There will also be a sausage sizzle and beverages available at the festival.
National Children's Week runs from Sunday, October 20 - Sunday, October 28 with many activities planned around the theme, "Celebrating Children - the right of the child to play in the National year of reading." Check the Queensland Children's Week website for details around the state.
