Young people are now enjoying a playground with a new dimension on Orchard Street, Armadale. The recently opened multimedia Youth Activity Area allows scooter riders, BMX riders and skateboarders to watch their friends doing fancy tricks, as well as themselves, in loop de loops in real time on a digital screen.


With plenty of seating and trees providing shade it is an ideal setting for other users of the park to take an interest in the action.

There are plans to use the area in the future for more youth based activities and, as part of the push for more participation in sport and activity for youngsters in Armadale and the surrounding regions, the City of Armadale is providing free BMX workshops, skateboarding workshops and scooter workshops every Thursday from 4-6pm until April 12, 2012

A competition for the three sports will be held at the YAA from 4-6 on Friday April 13, with 'heaps of prize' according to their website .
