New to Canberra, I love exploring this city and the secrets that it holds with my family.

Get out into the great outdoors this weekend
Tuggeranong, Woden and Weston have free BBQ's for us all to use in parklands, reserves and other areas across the district. It is a great way to get the kids (and ourselves!) out of the house to kick a ball, play some cricket or ride bikes before filling up with a sausage sizzle on a free BBQ.
This list was compiled with the help of the ACT Territory and Municipal Services website. They have a list of BBQ's in operation and update their website with a Weekly BBQ Report. It is a handy report to check that your BBQ is operating before you go - especially if you are organising a big BBQ celebration.
Gordon has 2 BBQ's located at Point Hut District Park, also with a playground nearby. The last time I visited this area parts of the playground were waiting to be fixed, however the park itself is a good location for a BBQ and some outdoor sports with your family and friends by the water.
In Greenway, there are 3 BBQ's at Lake Tuggeranong District Park (on the opposite side to the Town Centre). Our family enjoy this area as the bike path is reasonably flat for young riders, there are ducks to feed and wildlife along the way. It is a peaceful location for a BBQ with two modern parks nearby.

Tuggeranong Town Park has a couple of BBQ's - at the time of writing this whole area is under construction so when it is finished it will be an ideal place to visit with the playground, the lake and indoor swimming centre nearby.
Kambah District Park is favourite of Tuggeranong families with 3 BBQ's. With ample space to kick a ball, bike paths to ride scooters and Kambah Adventure Playground - there is a lot to do before or after your BBQ.
