Three free fun filled events for the whole family to enjoy

Celebrate Australia Day in style at one of three exciting events hosted by the Moreton Bay Regional Council. Join in on the festivities at Bribie Island, Strathpine or Redcliffe and make the most of Australia day 2013. Best of all, the events are FREE!

Aussie Beach Party - 7.30am - 7.30pm
Brennan Park and Apex Park - Toorbul Street, Bribie Island

Beach skydive display at 12:30pm

There's nothing like a hearty Aussie breakfast to kick off a day of celebrations - and at Bribie Island you'll get just that. From 7:30am - 9:30am you and your family will be treated to a delicious free breakfast courtesy of Cornetts Supa IGA and Bribie Island Lions Club. Live entertainment will take place at the Brennan Park Stage from 8:00am - 7:15 pm - check out the line up here. Get festive and join in on the fun with the air guitar, best dressed Aussie and lamington eating competitions.
How many can you do?

Kids will be spoilt for choice with a range of activities on offer at Apex Park from 8:30am 4:30pm. There will be everything from face painting, Aussie games, $2 rides, arts and craft markets, puppet shows and much more. Wrap up a perfect day in Bribie Island with a spectacular beach fireworks display at 7:20pm.

Fish, Fun & Aussie Sun - 10am - 4pm
Suttons Beach, Marine Parade, Redcliffe

A fun day for all

Redcliffe celebrations will officially kick off with the Cadet March & Flag Raising Ceremony from 7.30am - 8.30am.

Soak up the festive atmosphere with some fish, fun and Aussie sun at Suttons Beach. Entertain the kids with just $2 at the animal farm and make the most of the free activities including kite making, trampolines, Aussie giveaways and temporary tattoos. Those who have a competitive streak can take part in the mud crab racing, thong throwing, ice cream eating, sandcastle building, coeeing calling and dance competitions. There truly is something for everyone.

You will also have a unique opportunity to meet Australia Day Ambassador and rugby league legend Darren Lockyer from 10am 12pm. What better way to celebrate Australia Day than with our very own Aussie hero.

Aussie Arvo - 3pm - 9pm
Pine Rivers Park, Gympie Rd, Strathpine

A spectacular light show

Pine Rivers Park will be set alight with non stop action form 3pm 9pm at the Australia Day Aussie Arvo. The celebrations for our biggest nationwide public holiday will commence with the official flag raising by the Lawnton Scouts at 3pm followed by performances from Aussie Boogaloo, We the Ghosts, Fingerprints and many more.

Celebrate all things Australian at the activities area from 3pm 6pm. Activities include, competitions, free face painting, big Aussie sandpit, free animal farm, $2 rides and food and market stalls. The Beer Tent on site is the perfect place for some celebratory drinks with friends and family. The night sky will light up at 8:55pm as the festivities conclude with a colourful fireworks display.

There's no shortage of fun and excitement at these fantastic events in the Moreton Bay region. Enjoy the free entertainment and activities on offer and celebrate all that we love about this beautiful country.

Be nice if organisers had a PLAN B organised in case it turns out to be a rainy day! And that PLAN B was publicised...because it sure looks like a rainy day ahead & lots of disappointment for all those kids.
