In the books of history, 30 August is recognised as the day of the arrival of the first European settlers on the north bank of the Yarra River in the year 1835 on a schooner named the Enterprize. This site is now known as the Enterprize Park located at the corner of the Williams Street and the Flinders Street, close to the old Customs House. Thus, a city named Melbourne was born.

This auspicious day usually begins with the Lord Mayor overseeing the official Flag Raising Ceremony followed by a plethora of free public events hosted all over Melbourne. The complete programme itinerary will be released soon. Stay tuned by frequenting this website.
