Why not visit Peterborough today

Peterborough is a town of approximately 1500 people in the mid-north of South Australia. It is situated in the beautiful Southern Flinders Ranges region. An easy three hours' drive from Adelaide, along the Barrier Highway, will get you there. The town boasts all things railway, and here are a couple of free attractions for you to consider when you visit.

1. The Town Carriage Museum showcases major events in the town's history through interpretive artefacts and screening room.

2. Bob the Railway Dog was a scruffy brown stray who became a beloved member of this railway community. The story of Bob is intriguing, and you can read all about it here.

3. The four different town entry signs are somewhat special. Located at each of the main road entrances to Peterborough, they feature scale miniature sculptures of steam locomotives made of rod iron.
