Salerno Gallery in Sydney has been the viewing gallery for the contemporary tapestry of many emerging and established artists in Australia and abroad. This prime street frontage exhibition space in Sydney's vibrant inner city suburb of Glebe showcases a diverse range of ever-changing works in all mediums ranging from paint, illustration and sculpture to installation and video work.
From 15 to 23 August, this vibrant environment for creative practice and engagement with audiences of the contemporary arts will be home to Elisabeth Kelvin's 'Harbour City Tones and Colours' exhibition.
Elisabeth is an interdisciplinary artist who marries music performance and visual arts by painting what she hears and playing what she sees. She blurred the lines of music and art through her interpretations 'Hanging Ten' in 2007 and further explored the shared distinctions between art and music through her 2nd solo exhibition, 'Polyphonic Visions' in 2009.
This accomplished student and educator of music in Australia and the US continues to pursue her own music, text and visual directions with Titan Chunky Compositions, an independent, multi-disciplinary arts practice that provides professional music, text and visual compositions and training.

Elisabeth's rich understanding of colour, rhythm, improvisation and structural juxtaposition is expressed through her new works, as is her continued exploration of the difference and shared distinctions of aural and visual media. As part of the exhibition, she will also be hosting 4 events in Salerno Gallery.
