My last "Free" article gave you some tips for freewheeling your way through March and it turns out that April is another function free-for-all in Brisbane. So exercise your free will, and enjoy your free time freeloading at these community, charity, musical and art events throughout April.

[SECTION]Ipswich Festival[/SECTION]

For two weeks each year Ipswich sings, swings and celebrates at this popular community event. Stalls, artists in a range of musical and performance genres, fireworks and food all feature strongly.

When: Wednesday 25 April to 6 May 2012
Where: Various venues throughout Ipswich
What's On: Highlights are Fire on the River fireworks display (Thursday evening 26 April) and Festival Parade and Top of Town Street Party (Saturday 5 May). There will also be live music performances, art exhibitions, theatre and multicultural celebrations over the two week period.
More Information: Festival website here .

[SECTION]Green Jam Sessions[/SECTION]

No, it's not a cookery course to teach you the fine art of creating lime marmalade. Green Jam sessions have showcased the talents of jazz students from Griffith University Queensland Conservatorium for a number of years and they continue in 2012. I caught the fine jazz vocal talents of Washington here when she still had a first name (Megan), and before she changed tack and became an indie sensation. You might be listening to the stars of tomorrow. No bookings required. Just turn up and select your patch of grass.

When: Friday evenings 13, 20 and 27 April from 5pm to 8pm.
Where: QPAC's Melbourne Street Green, corner of Grey and Melbourne Streets, South Bank.
Artists: 13 April - Triplicity, 20 April - Cassie Goldbold Trio, 27 April - James Ball Trio.

[SECTION]Sirromet Easter Family Fun Day[/SECTION]

When the kids have demolished the easter chocolate and you've cleaned up the foil wrappers then head out to Sirromet for an Easter event where you and the kids can run and jump off the effects of Easter indulgence.

When: Easter Sunday 8 April from 10am to 5pm
Where: Sirromet Winery, 850 Mount Cotton Road, Mount Cotton.
What's On: Sausage sizzle, live music, jumping castle, easter egg hunt for kids. No BYO food and drinks.
