Free Anti-Theft Screw Fitting Session at Bunnings Homebase Subiaco

On Thursday the 6th of September, Perth District Police, in conjunction with Bunnings Homebase Subiaco, will be hosting a free anti-theft screw fitting day.

Wembley Police will be fitting the anti-theft number plate screws between 2pm and 6pm in the Bunnings carpark.

This event is open to all members of the community and provides a good opportunity to take a quick and easy step to reduce your chances of experiencing numberplate theft.



According to police, numberplate theft is increasing in Western Australia, with more than 12 numberplates being stolen every day .

If your number plates are stolen, you'll need to apply for new plates , which will involve paying a fee. There's also the added hassle of changing your numberplate details on your registration, insurance and any interstate toll accounts.

About the anti-theft screws:
The anti-theft screws come in four sizes, to suit all types of vehicles. They are fitted with a screwdriver but require a special removal tool to remove them (your local mechanic and some police stations will have the tools to remove them if required).



If you're unable to make it on the day, anti-theft screws can also be purchased from Bunnings and other hardware stores for just over $5 a packet .
