The 2017 Royal Adelaide Show is nearly upon us! This year there are dozens of
free show activities for all ages - check some of these top 10 free highlights and feel free to add your own suggestions in the comments box below:
1. Cute Farmyard Animals
Always a Show favourite and open every day from 9am to 8pm in the BankSA Farmyard Nursery, your kids will just love the incredibly cute and fluffy farm animals.
2. Adelaide International Drone Championship
A spectacular event and one not to be missed - drone pilots race to be in the running to win $25,000 and be crowned the 2017 South Australian Champion or Australian International Champion.
The program of events for Drone Racing at the Main Arena are:
SA Championship Competition Rounds: 8pm to 8.20pm Friday 1st to Friday 8th September
SA Championship Final: 8pm to 8.20pm Saturday 9th September
Australian International Championship Qualifying Rounds: 2pm to 4.45pm Sunday 10th September
Australian and International Championship Final: 6.30pm to 7pm Sunday 10th September
3. Wiggles Emma and Lachy on Tour
Wiggle and jiggle along with two of the Wiggles, Emma and Lacy in this free show for little kids. Free shows on the Goyder Stage, 4th to 6th of September. 40-minute show, starting at 4pm.
4. Pig Racing and Diving.
There's nothing quite like it and you really need to see
this fun show. Get there early and settle into your seats - most shows are standing room only
Shows are held daily at 10.30am, 12noon, 1pm, 2pm, 4pm and 5pm in the Western Entertainment Arena, West Boulevard.
5. Fireworks
Every night at 9pm in the Main Arena (except for Sunday the 10th September - the end of Show fireworks finale will be held at 8pm). On Monday 4th, Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th, there will be additional earlier family-friendly fireworks shows at 7pm.
6. Strongman Truck Pull
A show of strength at the Show. Get along on Saturday the 2nd and Wednesday the 6th at 3.30pm to see this amazing event.

7. Art, Craft, Cookery and Photography
For those who love the arts - view the home grown creative entries in the fashion, cakes, photography and arts and craft competitions.
8. The Dogs
Who doesn't love to stop in and watch the dogs and their owners do wonderful things in the Obedience and Agility tests. Walk among the dog stalls and sit ringside to watch the "Best in Breed" judging every day, 9am–8pm

9. Motor Sports for the rev-heads
V8 Ute Challenge
Cheer on your favourite in the V8 Ute Challenge, with professional women drivers Kelly Wong and Lisa Walker taking part at the Royal Show for the first time. Cheer for your team - Ford or Holden - as they race around the dirt track in the Main Arena - doing 180 degrees turns, spinning their tyres and spraying the crowd with dirt.
Every night 8.30pm to 8.45pm
10. Meet the farmers – and their cows
Meet the farmers and the dairy cows where your milk, yogurt and cheeses come from. Take the "Legendairy" Farmer Tour and get a fascinating behind the scenes info-tour on all things dairy. From the 1st to 5th of September. Tours at 2.30pm and 4pm at the Exhibition Dairy

Check the full program on some of the other fun activities, such as the Equestrian events, Professional Baking Competition, Rabbit Show Jumping Competition, Motorcycle Stuntman and the Tunnel of Fire, Oz Rocketman, Motocross stunts by Showtime FMX riders, 60 trained mice in Saul's Mouse Mania Show, the State Whip Cracking Championship, The Celebrity Milk-off 'Milking Championships' and the Wood Chopping Competition.
