This coming Saturday is a great time for kids to visit the new Blue Hive on Adelaide's Riverbank. The Blue Hive is a community space between the Adelaide Festival & Convention Centres on the Riverbank Promenade at the city end of the Riverbank Footbridge.
As part of the Experience Riverbank Festival run by the State government, there will be three free activities for kids being held at the Blue Hive on Saturday January 11.
Get Creative with Free Film Making Workshop
Get Creative is a free film making workshop aimed at children aged from 8 to 16 years old, running from 11-12pm on Saturday January 11. Experienced tutor Chloe Gardner from Adelaide's Kids Camera Action will be teaching all the fundamentals of basic film production using an interactive and hands on approach.
The workshop that will be an introduction to film making - explaining film terminology, demonstrating film equipment and how to script and shoot a scene.
The free Circus Skills Workshop for kids aged 10 plus runs from 1.30pm-2.30pm on Saturday December 11 at the Blue Hive near the Adelaide Festival Centre.
Hilarious performer Tony Hannan will be teaching a variety of skills including diabolo, flower sticks, juggling, spinning plates and hoola hooping. Tony is well experienced, having worked with Cirkidz and Ink Pot Arts.
It's a free hour of circus fun, and an exciting non competitive environment to build friendships while learning about how your body works!
Get Connected: Environment & Sustainability Workshop
If you care about the environment or even want to know what it means to have a green thumb, then this is the afternoon to come and meet people who are working to conserve the environment and look after their community.
Come and meet passionate young volunteers from the best sustainability focused organisations in the state. Listen to why they care about the environment and hear them explain how we can give back locally in our community to make an impact globally.
