Freaky Friday (2003)

The 2003 Freaky Friday (also known as Fortune Cookie in Japan) is the second re-make of the original film of the same name and stars Lindsay Lohan as Anna Coleman, a teenage girl, living in the modern world and dealing with the turmoil of being a rebellious teenager, which her mother, played by Jamie Lee Curtis, finds her behaviour to be truly unruly.

This film tells the story of a time in their lives, when Anna and her mother aren't getting along and each of them thinks that each other's lives are easier than the other and when a Chinese lady from their local Asian restaurant gives them magic fortune cookies, they end up in each other's bodies, causing all kinds of mayhem. They then realise that even in this time of modern technology, it's still not easy being a teenager or even an adult.

This film certainly isn't as good as the original and I found some of the humour to be a little cheesy at the best of times, but it's one that most kids and young adults would find hilarious.

Freaky Friday is rated PG for mature themes and was released on DVD in 2004.
