Not just pizzas; Fratelli Fresh does breakfast
Newly opened on Alfred Place in July in what was once Stokehouse City, Fratelli Fresh has open its doors on its very first Melbourne location.
While Fratelli Fresh has earned itself a reputation across Sydney for its incredible wood fired thin crust pizzas and Italian fare, lesser known is that Fratelli also served up a pretty solid breakfast as well.
Ideal for city dweller and corporate breakfast meetings, wander into the grand foyer at 7 Alfred Place and (after you marvel at the glass case of aged meat for their other New York style steakhouse upstairs, The Cut) wander into Fratelli and be warmed by the bright and casual atmosphere.

The menu offers a great variety without trying to be too clever or overwhelm you with too many options. You'll also find some fresh twists on traditional breakfast items including their fresh juice menu where we ordered up an incredibly refreshing nashi pear and raspberry juice.

We ordered the ricotta and blueberry pancakes (on the day we were there they were also serving them up with strawberries) served with citrus syrup, lemon curd and orange zest. They were baked rather than pan cooked like you might expect and as a result created a gorgeously light breakfast that topped with lemon curd was delicious (and really filling!)

We also tried the Goats Cheese Frittata served with asparagus, Spanish onion and roasted tomato with a side of toast of course (below). Some of their other popular dishes paying homage to traditional Italian flavours are a breakfast Prosciutto Plate with fresh figs and Buffalo mozzarella as well as an Eggs Benedict Bruschetta.

And while breakfast here is a treat, it's the aperitivo hour at Fratelli Fresh that's also a win. Held between 3pm-6pm guests can get $5 wines, beer and spirits alongside $10 Spritzers and $7.50 Negroni on tap, pair those with Fratelli's pizzas at $15 or house churned gelato, Venetian doughnuts or Sicilian cannoli and you're definitely onto a winner.
