Head to
Frankston Waterfront Festival on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 January 2014 for two big days of entertainment, activities, market stalls, live music, food and wine. With a whole range of activities on offer, there's no better way to spend your weekend.

The following pages highlight some of the festivities so read on for a summary of what's going on.
Fun & Fab
Put on your bathers, grab your towels, slop on some sunscreen and head to the water's edge for a vast array of beach and water activities on offer.
Kids can meet and swim with the quirky mermaiden Nerissa, who is guaranteed to put big smiles on little faces. Watch in awe as Nerissa glides through the waves gracefully with her gleaming blue tail dazzling in the sunlight. Hear the enchanting stories about life under the sea which will fascinate and even baffle you. And see Nerissa perform, sing, swim and dive.
There are heaps of come and try activities at the beach so take this opportunity to try something new. Have a go at stand up paddle boarding, canoeing, sailing and out-rigging. You'll never know, you might just discover your hidden talents.

Pop by the Goodlife Health Clubs Karingal, Challenge Arena and test yourself on a whole range of activities. Learn some moves for Latin dance, get the ins and outs of bowling, feel the benefits of yoga and have a great time watching energetic performers from local dance and performance groups. All you have to do is watch the demonstrations, not be shy and jump right in! And don't forget to have a chat with the team at the Festival to receive heaps of freebies and prizes in addition to getting your body age tested and participating in their Group Fitness expo.
You can be sure to see lots of rides and amusements to entertain the young and the young at heart. Feel the thrill and excitement as you jump, slide, giggle and laugh. Rides cost between $3 to $8 so be sure to enjoy the fun.
Head to the Lifestyle Zone where you can find out about local products and services. Medicare representatives will be on hand to answer questions; take advantage of the free skin consultations and learn about your own skin; challenge someone to play a game of Giant Chess; and strike a pose on the Nine News Red Carpet.
Children will absolutely love the interactive vegetable garden display at Eden Garden Children's Zone. The youngsters will find out about growing and looking after their own vegetables and flowers and parents can fire questions at the expert horticulturalist on site. This is guaranteed to be a fun and education experience. for both adults and children.
See & Do
Nothing beats live music. So take some time to chill out at the Live 'n' Local Main Stage for two days of jazz, funk, indie, pop and rock music.
Enjoy sounds of soulful blues by Heidi Luckhurst, folk galore by Penninsula Folk Club, and rock and roll to the max with Nickhail. The line-up also include Shoot the Messenger, Mere Poets, The Fuzzbirds, The Ash Ball Project, INXSIVE, to name just a few. So make sure you check out their program, get there early to snag a good spot, soak up the sun and enjoy the tunes.
Don't miss out on the Silent Disco from 6pm on Saturday. Party like you just don't care to music blaring from your wireless headphones and dance like there's no tomorrow. And don' t miss out on the wonderful fireworks at 9.45pm on Saturday night. Watch as the night sky lights up with colourful lights exploding in front of your eyes.

Feast your eyes on the stunning sand creations at Sand Sculpting Australia's Story Land Exhibition. Here, you will see the most popular Penguin books brought to life including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Mr. Men, Flower Fairies and heaps more. Open daily from 26 December until 26 April, this is definitely an exhibition not to be missed.
And, head to the Frankston Mechanics Hall to see the Peninsula Arts Society and Friends exhibition for their tremendous collection of paintings, displays, demonstrations and sales from various local organisations.
Eat & Drink
Stop by the Taste, See and Explore Market Place and discover the most unique and amazing products locally made. Anticipate a vast array of hand-made children's things, special stained glass effect window stickers, fashionable clothing for the pretty ladies and beautiful children in addition to homewares, candles, toys and bedding. What's more, indulge on scrumptious gourmet food, fresh fudge and sauces, cupcakes and brownies.
Be transported around the world with flavours that will tickle your tastebuds on the waterfront. Whether you feel like Filipino BBQ skewers or Mexican tacos, burgers or crepes, ice-cream or coffee, there is definitely something here for everyone.
And when you're thirsty, the Beer and Wine Garden will look after you with a fantastic line-up of frosty brews and tasty wines.
