Why is this Sydney's Top Gelato?
A summer delight; Pineapple and Strawberry Gelato cake looks spectacular, a dinner party dessert perhaps?

Year after year, the awards keep rolling in for Frangipani 's famous gelatos, their wall of fame stands proud; say no more.
Year after year, the awards keep rolling in for their delectable gelato.

Their Boysenberry Gelato was awarded Gold in 2012 at the Royal Easter Show; I can see why. Tangy rich red boysenberries marbled through the delicate sweet white classic gelato base are appealing to both the eye, and 'packs a punch' to the taste buds. Nothing artificial about this little treasure.
Meringue and Berries for the sweet toothed, like me! Butterscotch never tasted soooo good. As for this devine chocolate, it is made from quality Belgium chocolate, hmmmmm - as Homer would say.

Working my way along the row, sampling several of their many flavours, I discovered a distinction between real chunks of fruit, coconut, biscuit, swirls of sweet caramel, tenderly folded through the smooth, light texture of gelato.

I am a big meringue fan, so when I saw Meringue and Berries, I was going for it and was not disappointed by any means. Beware, it is quite sweet, just the way I like it.

Chocolate gelato can be hit or miss - they have definitely hit the mark using the best Belgium chocolate, producing a light velvety texture with a robust taste to please any chocoholic.

You can tell I have a sweet tooth, my next choice was Butterscotch, laced with thick shavings of that smooth Belgium chocolate. Once the gelato has melted in your mouth, you can suck on the chocolate pieces. A pure delight.

Frangipani 's menu takes in 40 flavours, catering from the all time classics to the new and innovative, pleasing any age group's palette. New to the menu is Bonefe
For the health conscious; tangy Yoghurt and Berries stays true to its flavours and an all time favourite - Strawberry
- a wonderful mix of caramel, real banana pieces, broken biscuits and peanuts - this is a must to at least sample. For those who require dairy free, (most do not contain eggs), gluten free or are diabetic, there are many choices to choose from, including Yoghurt and Berries for the more health conscious.

Rotating their flavours weekly creates surprise each time you enter the store; about 20 are displayed on any given day.
Considering the quality, I thought they were well priced at $4.50 for 1 scoop, $5.80 for 2 scoops & $6.80 for 3 scoops.

Can't decide? Life is too short to skimp on ice cream. Go ahead, pack three flavours on a cone and like me. You will be in heaven.

Gelato Cakes
Pretty flower cake of Mango Gelato, great for Mum or a girlfriend

An array of alluring 'Gelato Cakes' displayed in their fridge gave thought to my upcoming birthday. Cake never looked so good and strangely enough, I didn't 'feel' the calories hitting my hips.
Try this two tiered gelato cake - truffle on the bottom, boysenberry on the top, to please a multitude of guests, perhaps the hum, Raisin and Coffee is more to your liking.

They come in three sizes - which you can order or grab one from the fridge for a quick dinner party dessert or a delightful birthday cake to please many. Oh come on, who doesn't like ice cream?

This Mint Chocolate Chip is packed with 'goodies' to swirl in your mouth!

The best part is they come decorated, so they will look spectacular on any dining table.
Stunning 'White Chocolate and Mini Cones' cake made from Gelato. Mmmmmm

Ranging from $28, $38 & $55 for a two tiered cake.

Mini Ice Cream Cones
Decadent pleasure without too much guilt!

For those who like to gratify their 'naughty' nightly sugar cravings, or need a dastardly 4pm sugar fix at work, buy a box of their mini cones and pop them in the freezer. They come in packs of eight or twelve.

Costing $8.50 & $12.50, pop them in the freezer when your alter ego calls. Small enough to take the sugar edge off without the guilt.

Gift with a Difference
Want a gift with a difference? Purchase a 'Tin of Ice Cream '.
These delightful tins contain four specialty flavours . Nougat, Turkish Delight, Pannacotta and White Chocolate and Mango
. You will be a hit with any friend or relative.

Beautifully presented and tied with a blue ribbon, a great 'Grab and Go Gift'.

Owner and 'Official Taste Tester', (a title I wouldn't mind having after my name) Diane, learnt the secrets of this time honoured tradition in the sacred home of gelato, Italy.

Ensuring authenticity, essential base ingredients are imported from the mother country, adding freshly roasted nuts from our Southern Highlands and highest quality locally grown fruits.
