Fragonard Perfume Museum (Fragonard Musée du Parfum)

Entering into Fragonard Perfumery is like stepping back in time to a building that was created in the 1800s for royalty. If you love everything that smells wonderful and reeks of a time of decadence, you will love it here.

Fragonard have created a Musee du Parfum which is quite fascinating to walk through.

You can see the old ways of perfume being distilled and the beautiful and antique storage bottles, that people have used throughout time for storing perfume.



There are some interactive exhibits for young and old, where you can smell and guess the fragrances.

It is amazing to marvel at the wealth that was previously available to a select few in society, and the opulent ways in which they lived.

The old distilleries and manufacturing items are quite fascinating to look at.

Sometimes there is a guided tour that you may join in on. If one is not happening upon your arrival, you are welcome to take a self-guided tour through Fragonard Perfumery.

At the culmination of the exhibits there is the Fragonard Perfumery shop, where you may smell and sample all the different varieties of perfume, eaux de toilette, soap and room freshener.

Many of the fragrances are uni sex and they also offer some charts to assist you to choose some of the more suitable fragrances (see images in this review).

You are welcome to make your purchases in the Fragonard Perfumery shop for any of the items that you like.

Entry to the museum is free.

There are several locations for Fragonard Perfumery in Paris. (see images for details)


One is located directly opposite the fabulous opera department store - just across from Galerie La Fayette .

If you pop into some of the tourist destinations including Paris, you can pick up a little card which will give you a 10% discount on any purchases at Fragonard Perfumery.

Fragonard Perfumery is open Monday to Saturday 9 am to 6 pm on Sunday 9 AM to 5 PM every day of the year.
