Fowl Language: The Struggle is Real is the second collection of comics by Brian Gordon, who started drawing the comic in 2013 as a way of keeping himself sane through some of the more challenging parts of parenting. It is based on Brian and his own children, who appear as ducks.

As a mother, I find Fowl Language very easy to relate to. It absolutely nails the sense of trying to pretend you know what you are doing and have everything under control and being full of equal parts love and exasperation.

Fowl Language: The Struggle is Real would make a great gift for a stay at home parent. It will probably appeal mostly to parents, who will likely see themselves in the beleaguered father duck, but also to fans of comics like Heart and Brain , Sarah's Scribbles , or Bunmi Laditan's snarky parenting book Toddlers are A**holes.

Fowl Language comics also appear online and in Brian's first collection, Fowl Language: Welcome to Parenting.
