After-work drinks in the valley have just grown up. A sophisticated new drinking establishment has popped up. Fourth Wall is the outcome from some creative folk who were looking to bring some "fantasy meets reality" to the bar scene.


While bar-hopping on a recent Friday night, a friend and I were compelled to cross Ann St to investigate this new addition. Having a chat with the gents behind the bar, they helped us select the right beverage for the occasion - pear and ginger cider, which was not too sweet, but not too sharp - and let us know some background. Inspired by a tree on the footpath that they plan to drape with fairylights, the interior has been subtly, but distinctly themed with foliage-inspired wallpaper, soft furnishings and wall paintings.


They opened recently, on 22 August, and are trading five nights a week. I was very impressed, but unfortunately, we had dinner reservations and friends to meet, so couldn't stay long enough. I plan to return soon to investigate the cocktail offerings. Fourth Wall is open 4pm til late Wednesday through Sunday. You can find them on Facebook at Fourth Wall
