Cool stay in Darling Harbour
I stayed in Four Points by Sheraton in Sydney recently. What I liked most about it is its central Sydney CBD and very handy location in Darling Harbour. I was given a room overlooking Darling Harbour and it was a pleasure to take a break and watch goings-on in that busy tourist spot over a glass of wine.

I holidayed with family and we enjoyed the five-minute walk to Chinatown before sitting down for yum cha, a roast duck meal or a Taiwanese shaved-ice dessert. Shopping or window-shopping is a Sydney-given. There are shops a-plenty on George Street, the Chinatown, Darling Harbour, and city central.

Four Points by Sheraton is pleasant, the staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the service is prompt. The hotel has an in-house gym that one can access 24 hours a day. I was disappointed to find out that there is no swimming pool or sauna in the hotel. After all, one stays in a good hotel also for its amenities.

Hotel dining is limited to the Corn Exchange Restaurant, the Lobby Lounge and Dundee Arms Pub. The first two are both located on the first floor while Sydney's fifth-oldest pub, The Dundee Arms, is part of the hotel and offers alternative indoor as well as outdoor seating. But as Four Points is located close to everything, there are plenty of restaurants and eating places nearby.

My room had air-conditioning issues, which the hotel addressed expediently. I received excellent service from a porter who went out of his way to make sure that I made my flight back to the Sunshine Coast. The largest hotel in Australia with its nearly 700 rooms and suites was a more than satisfactory home away from home.
