Gateway to the Hinterland

Nambour, the town originally known as Petrie’s Creek, was renamed Nambour in 1891. Derived from the Aboriginal word ‘naamba’, referring to the red-flowering tea-tree (callistemon viminalis), Nambour was renamed after the Nambour cattle station.*



Perfectly located in the heart of the Sunshine Coast, Nambour is affectionately referred to as the ‘Gateway to the Hinterland’ and is a bustling destination jam-packed with diversity, character and charm. NAMBOUR TWILIGHT MARKETS
HELD ON THE 2ND FRIDAY OF EVERY MONTH, 4.30pm to 8.30pm
SHORT STREET, NAMBOUR



Come along to Nambour on the second Friday of every month for the family-friendly Twilight Markets held in Short Street. Visitors can indulge in a world of culinary delights, provided by a variety of food trucks, whilst enjoying the community ambience.

Meander in and around the stalls and take some time out to meet the people running them, all eager to share a story or two, whilst you de-stress and enjoy your Friday kickstart to the weekend.



The Nambour Twilight Markets’ entertainment is always amazing, with everything from a flame thrower to the colourfully-costumed belly dancers and of course, the must-have, live music! Kick back after a long week under a starlit canopy and appreciate the performances by talented local musicians.

Whether you’re a food lover, a shopper, a music lover or someone who just loves markets, Nambour Twilight Markets has something on offer to suit everyone.

RUMMAGER’S MARKET
HELD ON THE 3RD SUNDAY OF EVERY MONTH, 9.00am to 12.00noon

Come along on the third Sunday of every month and discover the magic of vintage, preloved and handmade treasures that breathe new life into every moment.

HELD EVERY THURSDAY, 8.00am to 2.00pm

Commonly known as The Village Market, Nambour Town Square Markets is held every Thursday in the Nambour Town Square. Market lovers will find everything from empanadas to cakes to Indian street food to clothing to coffee and even hand-crafted goods, with everything else you can think of in-between, including fruit and vegetables.

The Indoor Market in Nambour is still very much a newcomer to the market scene, having only just commenced at the beginning of April. This market is an all-weather market that showcases handmade arts and crafts, ceramics, crystals, candles, jewellery, Reiki, face painting and so much more.
