Confession time - I have a weakness for almond croissants, those buttery, warm, toasted almond flavoured pillows of deliciousness. I don't often seek them out (ok maybe just once or twice) so it's always a good day when I stumble upon one unexpectedly, such as on a recent visit to Four Little Foxes.

Four Little Foxes is a new café in the quiet suburb of Milperra in south west Sydney. Created from a wish to have somewhere local to go for a lazy weekend breakfast, a healthy and fresh lunch or just for a great take-away coffee, it is tucked away in a small shopping complex on the corner of Amiens Ave and Pozieres Ave, Milperra.
Opening in July 2016, this café is already very popular with the local community and as I had heard many good reports thought it was time to check it out.

The café décor is modern, bright and welcoming. While not a particularly large space there are a number of options for seating - stools or small tables along the sides, bench seating up the back or on a table for large groups in the centre of the café. There are also a couple of smaller tables out the front of the shop for alfresco dining.
The café serves breakfast and brunch every day except Mondays. The menu includes breakfast staples such as muesli, French toast and a variety of egg dishes as well as some more unusual dishes such as Sweet Potato Pancakes, a Smoked Salmon Salad, a Fried Chicken Burger and a Juicy Beef Burger. To whet your appetite you can see some mouth watering photos of some of the breakfast dishes on the
Facebook page here. In addition to hot drinks the café serves cold-pressed juices, a variety of smoothies and frappes.
We stopped in for morning tea on a weekday during the school holidays and the café was quite busy with adults and children enjoying a relaxed brunch or coffee.
My children ordered a small milkshake each with a toasted banana bread while I opted for a coffee and couldn't resist the almond croissant sitting temptingly with the sweet treats.

Who can resist an almond croissant?
The regular sized coffee was a generous size and the almond croissant was absolutely massive. With crispy and flaky pastry on the outside contrasting with a deliciously gooey centre, the croissant was bakery perfection.
The milkshakes came in the cutest little bottles and were given the thumbs up by the kids for being creamy, thick and delicious. If you have a bigger thirst, there is also a larger size of milkshake available to order.

The toasted banana bread was also a winner with my children. Other sweet treats available at the café include a variety of freshly baked muffins, Oregano Bakery scrolls as well as brownies and truffle balls from Addiction Food. For daily muffin flavours check the
Facebook page here.
