The Four Figs licensed cafe in Beaconsfield serves deliciously fresh and well-priced dishes, supporting local businesses by sourcing local produce.
A cosy and warm restaurant, Four Figs cafe is tucked away around a corner—invisible to anyone trying to find a carpark in front of it, but exposed to the busy Princes Highway in Beaconsfield. The only way to access this demure, little cafe is by walking around the corner. That is what first struck me on my visit.
The cafe always seems to be bustling, particularly on weekends with their all day breakfast on Saturday, and breakfast till 3pm on Sundays (a relief for late night partiers and late risers). My favourite is the vegetarian breakfast, hearty and fresh, and worth the wait. While small, it is never quite cramped but comfortably cosy. The earthy, modern decor provides a welcoming and comfy atmosphere, and the service is wonderful with attentive and talented staff.
The prices are also very reasonable with entree prices ranging from $5–10 and main meals from $10–20 with the exception of the char grilled porterhouse and eye fillet from $25–30. There is also a kid's menu.
The restaurant also caters for vegetarians and gluten-intolerant diners, with specifically vegetarian and gluten-free dishes, and dishes which can be adjusted to vegetarian or gluten-free, such as the 'braised chicken lamb', and the special 'Four Figs carbo' pasta dish with bacon, leeks, black pepper, mushroom and creamy cheese sauce.
For somewhere different to eat, Four Figs cafe is worth a try.
