Round, rough, crunchy, soft, flavour bombs
Fountain Court Chinese Restaurant in Grafton is an unexpected surprise, from its world class fried dim sims to its friendly service and exceptionally tasty dishes.
Fried Dim Sims at Fountain Court Chinese Restaurant, Grafton
Grafton locals I know have been going to this restaurant for years, always talking it up, but the reality far surpassed my expectations. I couldn't understand how anyone could wax lyrical about fried dim sims endlessly until I ate them at Fountain Court Chinese. They were an explosion of flavour and deliciousness in the mouth, and unlike any other dim sims I have ever had before.
I have dreamed about those dim sims since that night. It wasn't just me either. Locals we were dining with insisted the whole table order the fried dim sims, promising us we would not be sorry, and that they were different from other dim sims. We ordered them reluctantly. But I must confess that the locals were on the money.
After those round fried morsels of scrumptiousness sent my taste buds soaring onto cloud nine, I gave into it, and ordered a second round – I wasn't the only one.
Although I probably didn't really need to eat a main after that, my taste buds were singing, and the locals we were dining with insisted that actually, the wonderment didn't end there. You've got to love the locals. So I ordered sweet and sour pork, planning to share the dish.
Sweet N Sour Pork - best ever
I know this is an utter disgrace, but after one mouthful, I didn't want to share – such fabulous flavours, an absolutely exceptional and fantastic sweet and sour pork dish.
Although my belly was full to the brim, I did manage to snare a mouthful of someone else's dish (just to taste) - as if I hadn't had enough already! It was a vegetable and tofu dish, full of nuts and with satay sauce. This was not a dish I would normally order, but after having had a mouthful, I wanted to get a takeaway pack to take home for lunch the next day just because it was so yum! And I did.

I want to thank the locals for forcing us all to order the best fried dim sims any of us will probably ever have in our lives. I can't wait to order the sweet and sour pork again, and I just wish I could install the chef in my home kitchen.
If you haven't yet eaten at Fountain Court Chinese Restaurant in Grafton, you may be surprised at what you're missing. The food is fantastic, and the service friendly and efficient.
If you want my advice, or not, I'm going to give it to you anyway, for your own benefit: You simply must order the fried dim sims!
