As its name suggests, Fortune Duck is one of the places on Gouger Street where you can enjoy Roast Duck. You can see the Roast Ducks as well as various other types of Chinese roast meats hanging at the front of the store. The restaurant also serves a variety of other Chinese dishes.
The Roast Duck served here is one of our favourites, with thin, crispy skin contrasting well with the juicy, flavoursome meat. However the skin was a bit leathery in a few pieces which we thought was due to the fat not being properly rendered. This is common with all the roast ducks that we have tried; we have yet to have a roast duck dish where every part of the duck is perfectly cooked. We chose to order it plain but you can choose to have it topped with Plum or Sweet and Sour Sauce if you prefer.

Great for a cold day, the Stuffed Tofu Hotpot had chunks of soft tofu complemented well by the minced chicken and mushroom stuffing. The sauce the tofu was cooked in enhanced the flavour of the tofu and a generous amount of tender cabbage provided texture. If you like to give it a bit more spice, you can request for sliced chillies in soy sauce.

The portion size of their Prawn Omelette was very generous with the fluffy omelette partnering well with the perfectly cooked prawns. A bit of texture was provided by the onions and bean sprouts with the topping of oyster sauce giving the dish a delectable salty flavour.

The restaurant had a casual, cosy ambience and off-street parking is conveniently located in the U-Park located across the street from where the restaurant is located.
