Coffee that's worth a forking shot
A grey, drizzly day with a hint of autumn cool on the way. I ticked three things off the to-do list which meant it was coffee time. I must have coffee summoning powers as Forking Espresso came into view on Spine Street in the western Brisbane suburb of Sumner.
It was not a good day for enjoying the outdoor setting but the interior decor more than made up for it. Retro, think Scooby Doo, crossed with a splash of beach hut and pineapple.
There was lots of seating arranged in the space offering privacy or you can play board games on the main long table. The friendly staff can cater for birthdays and other functions and they are dog-friendly too.
A new menu with sweet and savoury offerings including burgers, sweet potato fries, eggs, breakfast and a range of sweeties. Although the coffee was not quite hot enough for me, it's delicious smoothness was over too soon. Judging by the regulars who were devouring platefuls of tantalising, fresh and substantial fare, I think this is forking worth another shot - pardon the pun!
