Be mesmerised with this stunning production
Forge and Bush Bailando, a stunning theatre performance from FORM Dance Projects is one not to miss. With an outstanding dance-music collaboration of two contemporary flamenco dance works, it is certainly an intriguing production.
Held at the Riverside Theatres, Parramatta this exciting double bill of Australian flamenco dance is performed by artists, Annalouise Paul and internationally acclaimed Pepa Molina who both performed an amazing solo work that were accompanied with fabulous onstage renowned musicians.
The performance is based on reinterpreting traditional flamenco and it certainly did impress with the completely fresh take on this artform.
The performance was mesmerising as well as 'trace-like' with the serenading live music instruments being played and the music being played throughout the show. It took us, the audience, into a world of inner-peace.
The performance reflected on the sounds and rhythms that is found in the Australian landscape, this was shown through the Bush Bailando as the performer explored the displacement of Andalusia heritage and draws inspiration from the natural elements of water, wind, earth and fire. Whilst Forge drew upon contemporary dance as well as percussive power of the piano which reinterpreted the soulful flamenco from Seguiriyas and its origin in Sephardi song.
It is certainly an inspiring and wonderful production to watch, be sure to attend and be mesmerised!
