isn't the most interesting park you could come across. Its other name is Yarralumla 2 , and if you haven't already guessed there are no playgrounds, no beaches, and in general not much to do. It's an oval, and its main focus is being an oval.



This is great if you need to hire it out for your next sports game. The oval is designed to be used for both AFL and Cricket. It's large enough for an AFL game, and has the turf for cricket. To hire out the oval you need to get in touch with the E conomic Development Directorate . As well as AFL and cricket the space could easily be used for a number of outdoor activities.

If you do hire out the oval you also get access to the canteen and the toilet block. If you've got a community event or a club game it'll make sure you keep the troops well fed after their game, and keeps spectators happy. The Yarralumla shops aren't too far away, but what's the point of watching a game if you're not actually watching it.



If you've come along for a game, but younger kids are looking for something to do, there are still a few options. There's a small patch of tall trees just outside of the oval, it's the type of place that kids love to explore, and they're sure to make up imaginative games amongst the trees.



Cross the road and you'll also find CSIRO's Forestry Products Research Facility. Outside there's a small display that has some of the traditional modes of transport used with early forestry. It's not a huge display, but popping over and taking a quick look gives you something to do.





may not be the most interesting park around, if you're looking for a playground you'd be better driving up to nearby Weston Park, but if you need a place to hold an AFL or cricket match keep it in mind. It's got all the practical things an oval might need, including car parking, it just doesn't have much else.
