Support environmentally conscious fashion

Cloudland Bar, located in Brisbane, is proudly presenting a fashion show with a difference on Friday, 5th of July, 2013. Entitled 'Forest Meets Fashion' this special one night only event will showcase the works of three of Brisbane's leading innovators in fashion, TheGreenShop, remadebybirdhands and One Colour, alongside the students from Mt Gravatt Sustainable Fashion Department.

This showcase of sustainable and ethical clothing was inspired by the environmental rehabilitation project Treehenge, an initiative of Condamine Alliance and a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to protecting land, water, native plants and wildlife.

Condamine Alliance CEO Phil McCullough said that Treehenge is currently working its way into the record books by rehabilitating degraded land and has so far planted 40,000 trees on the property.

"We recognised that there is a growing community of people who want to make responsible lifestyle choices to reduce their impact on the environment," Mr McCullough said.

"This gave us a great opportunity to connect the innovative ways urban and rural communities are making a difference to the environment."

"It all makes a difference from the actions people make in the stores of Brisbane to our project out in the Darling Downs," he said.

Event-goers can expect to see unique creations showcased on the catwalk, which are both fashionable and environmentally conscious. From day wear to night wear, be wowed by the creativity and passion shared by some of Brisbane's newest fashion talent.

The event will kick off at 6pm with the catwalk show starting at 7:30pm.

Tickets are priced at $30, which includes canapés and entry to the show with proceeds going towards supporting Treehenge.
