Miss classical music performances due to the COVID-19 lockdown in Melbourne? You're in for a treat.
Forest Collective has curated their tenth season of contemporary classical music at Abbotsford Convent. This not for profit artist collective strives to enrich audiences through multidisciplinary, experimental, and traditional art forms from new, early and mid-career artists.
Commencing in April, the season weaves through performances focusing on overlooked performing communities and composers, including LGBTIA, Asian, New Zealand and the intersection between classical music and dance. Get ready to enjoy the talent of over 30 of Melbourne's leading musical innovators through four innovative, diverse and passionate pieces of programming from Forest Collective.
Season highlights include:
1) Emo Phase as part of Midsumma Festival - curated by Adelaide based composer, pianist & theatre-maker Dan Thorpe.
