So, what is forest bathing? Forest bathing originates from (and translates to) the Japanese practice of Shinrin Yoku and is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Forest bathing requires slow, peaceful, mindful movement, in which the 5 senses are called upon (listening, touching, smelling, tasting and seeing), in which the participant accepts the invitation to connect to the nature surrounding them. Evidence-based outcomes of regularly practising Shinrin Yoku/forest bathing show marked improvements in participant's health and wellbeing, both physically and mentally.
