The industrial-themed space seats 140 diners and the 21 staff, including 3 chefs, prepare over 140 meals daily on weekdays and between 300 to 400 meals on the weekends. The coffee they use is roasted in Melbourne by
Wide Open Road and you can read more about them
here. Serving about 700 coffees daily, they sure know what they are doing!

On my mother's recommendation, our family visited the cafe on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. There is a large car park with an abundance of spaces right outside. For those taking public transport, Boronia Railway Station is a five minute walk away.

Specials clipboard
Forage Food Store spares you the highfalutin' item names that some menus have - just clear ingredients without fancy
Belly of the Dragon for a roast pork dish. The specials menu features five diverse choices of comestibles.

Lunch and Drinks side
Seating is comfortable and there are cushions that give a homely atmosphere.

Cosy and intimate seating
From the double-sided menu, we narrowed our options down to five things that we wanted to try; the
Breakfast Bruschetta, Breakfast Brioche, Crispy Salmon, Big Veg, and
Sweet Potato Fries.

Brunch and Kids side
Food arrived within fifteen minutes and was devoured in the next fifteen. The
Big Veg ($19.5) included homemade baked beans - not the canned variety, which seemed to be different types of beans simmered in tomato paste. It was healthy and delicious. The eggs can be cooked to your preference.

The Big Veg
The
Breakfast Bruschetta ($17.5) and
Breakfast Brioche ($16.5) were both elegant and simple in presentation. A potato rosti accompanies the brioche and balsamic vinegar drizzled over the bruschetta.

The Breakfast Bruschetta

The Breakfast Brioche
The salmon ($18.5) came with a side of truss cherry tomatoes and vegetables.

The Crispy Salmon
Two generous bowls of very light garlic mayonnaise and tomato sauce, perhaps made at the cafe, flanked the sweet potato chips ($8).

The Sweet Potato Chips
Sweet cakes are available for dessert.
