I've made it to my life's goal - the old age pension. Now I write for fun. Hope you enjoy reading.
Foodtrucks are to adults what icecream vans are to children
Brisbane's Food Truck Collective is setting up for Food Trucks on the Green at the Kedron Lions AFC Club. This means there is going to be a fine selection of yummy food trucks serving up all your favourite foods, football and beer at the Kedron Lions AFC Club, 78 Sixth Avenue, Kedron on Sunday, 16 July, 2017 from 12.00 midday until 4.00pm.
Entry to all this fun is FREE.
If you would like to enjoy an afternoon with your family and friends where you can select a delicious meal of your own choosing, enjoy a beer and some groovy, live music then this is the place for you. Food trucks serve up some sensational food and the variety is always mind boggling. You will not be able to eat everything you want so come prepared with a few doggie-bags so you can take what won't fit in on the day home for Ron (later-Ron! – oldie but a goodie).
The Bone Lorry: For those of us Brisbane Food Truck followers who love meat on the bone with accompaniments such as Boston Baked Beans and pink slaw this should be a stopping off point on the day.
King of the Wings: Offers five unique flavours of succulent, yum-yum, crispy wings and is the Food Truck that represented Australia in New York in 2016 at the World's Biggest Buffalo Wing Festival. If you love wings then you won't move from this truck all afternoon.
The Frying Piggy: Celebrates everything that is 'pure pork awesomeness'. Inspired by Taiwanese street fried food most dishes have been marinated for at least 24 hours with our own in-house mix of exotic Western and Asian herbs and spices. Always cooked on order, your piggy fix can be enhanced with a wide variety of free complementary sauces to go, such as Hickory Smoked BBQ, Bourbon BBQ, Chipotle BBQ, Sweet and Sour, South Carolina Mustard BBQ and Spicy Korean BBQ.
The Dapper and Chic: Real Cajun cooking centred on the cuisine of New Orleans and its vibrant streets and eclectic culture. Always evolving and changing the dishes but the Cajun inspiration is always present.
Ruby the Little Red Ice Cream Van: You have to make sure you leave that little hole at the end of the day for something special. Ruby serves up a variety of traditional soft serve cones including her premium soft serve which contains no trans fat and does not contain any preservatives and artificial colours. You can also slurp into an authentic Italian Gelato and Sorbets made locally with premium natural ingredients and available in such flavours as, chocolate, mango, raspberry, hazelnut and pistachio.
All Inn Brewing Co.: Enjoy a real, full flavoured ale with no additives (apart from the hops, yeast and stuff like that that's supposed to be there), that's unfiltered, unpasteurised and findings free. Such a lovely way to pass the afternoon.
Newstead Brewing Co.: Come and try some of Newstead Brewing Co.'s iconic range of beers. There's always plenty of choice from among Newstead's core beer and cider ranges.
In addition to all the food, drink and music the Club has great facilities for your relaxation pleasure including its large grounds where dad and the kids can kick a ball around – one way to make sure dad has a good night's sleep!
Food Trucks on the Green is the complete family friendly event with lots of space for the kids to run around in the beautiful parklands as well as plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for parents to unwind and take in the music and a few drinks.
Another huge plus for this event and its venue is there is almost unlimited parking – one problem that won't spoil the day.
