You have until this Sunday to gather together the family and head on down to the Ferny Grove Bowls Sports and Community Club, 20 Tramway Street, Ferny Grove so you can all experience the delights of some of Brisbane's best Food Trucks. The Food Truck Collective has put together a sensational line-up of food trucks to turn The Grove Sports Club into an Eaters' Paradise.
The trucks will roll in and be set up to start serving at midday and will then keep you sated until 4.00pm on Sunday, 6 August, 2017.
Entry is FREE to all this fun and deliciousness (That's probably not a real word but I'll bet you know what it means).
If you would like to enjoy an afternoon with your family and friends where the biggest problem you are going to have is choosing what to eat because these food trucks serve up absolutely sensational food and the variety is mind boggling. As well as the food there's also going to be a fine selection of boutique craft beers and some very groovy live music by Amy Varley.
In addition to all this there is also going to be free family activities including face painting, Barefoot Bowls, Water Pong and Table Tennis. Most certainly reason enough to come along on its own but now consider who's going to be there to really make your day:
The Bone Lorry: For those of us Brisbane Food Truck followers who love meat on the bone with accompaniments such as Boston Baked Beans and pink slaw this should be a stopping off point on the day.
King of the Wings: Offers five unique flavours of succulent, yum-yum, crispy wings and is the Food Truck that represented Australia in New York in 2016 at the World's Biggest Buffalo Wing Festival. If you love wings then you won't move from this truck all afternoon.
That Greek Truck: Brisbane's fantastic, five-star Food Truck where you get that Mediterranean jive with some delicious Greek pita wraps, salads, halloumi cheese and Souvlaki. No matter what your dietary requirements you won't miss out as they serve gluten free, vegetarian and dairy free meals.
Salt Meats Cheese: here is a pizzeria-on-wheels serving up an exceptional array of artisan cured meats, cheeses and other items creating classic Italian dishes with a modern Aussie twist.
Dolce Ice Creamery: Just the coolest, chicest mobile Italian gelato cart in Brisbane serving up the most wonderful locally made Gelato and Sorbet you will find. Remember to keep a place in your tummy for dessert.
Wild Yak Ales: A beer that comes with a light-hearted perspective to make sure your life will never be boring. Brewed with love this beer is guaranteed to set up your day to be one of your best.
Great Northern Beer: Is brewed longer to produce a super crisp, refreshing lager so your afternoon at the Barefoot Bowles will be all that is an endless summer of Queensland's great north.
In addition to all the food, drink, music and merriment the Grove Sports Club has great facilities you can access for your relaxation pleasure including a bowls rink where you can all spin a little bias down the track at the jack!
Food Trucks on the Green is the complete family friendly event with lots of space for the kids to run around in the beautiful parklands as well as plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for parents to unwind. Food Truck on the Green at Ferny Grove is a great day out for the whole family and, in particular, for the cook who gets the day off.
