As part of the Sydney International Food Festival, Saturday October 22nd will see Bexley Park transformed in to a riotous mix of food, music, movement and colour. Food 'n' Groove is in its second year and promises a celebration of global dance, food and music.
Grab the family, and a rug to sit on, and head on over for an afternoon of Food 'n' Groove. Market stalls offering a wide array of foods, drinks and other wares will be there, as will kids amusement rides, but the highlight of the event is sure to be the entertainment on offer.
An eclectic mix of performances will be on show, ranging from the Koomurri Australian Aboriginal Dancers, who aim to promote Australian Aboriginal culture through Indigenous didgeridoo masters and dancers, to the Rhythm of Polynesia Dance Troupe with their rhythmic drums, swinging hips and winning smiles, and even a Zumba class to get you up and moving.
The afternoons line up also includes performances from local school groups, flamenco dancers, bands and roving performers. Information and demonstrations featuring sustainable foods will be on show as well.
Bexley Oval is on the corner of Bexley Road and Donnan Avenue, Bexley. The event is expected to run from 12 midday to 7.30pm
There will be access for people with disabilities. Entry is free.
Best access is by car, with side street parking available around the park. Buses also run regularly from Rockdale and Bexley North train stations.
