Food Inc is a colourful, modern and relaxed cafe/restaurant on Elizabeth Street, adjoined to Melbourne Central.
The takeaway experience: I've noticed there are often long lines of people waiting to order on weekday mornings, but they tend to move fairly quickly. You can order coffee inside, or from a takeaway cart right out the front. I was a bit confused by it all, but it must be worth persevering because the cart seems to get a lot of regulars.
They serve Map Italian coffee. Here's my takeaway cappuccino.
The dine-in experience: While the initial experience of ordering was not very welcoming, the service received thereafter was great.
Not a fan of the usual 'bacon and eggs' breakfast (well, bacon I love, eggs I do not), I thoroughly enjoyed my avocado with lemon on toast and orange juice here – and it cost less than $10. It didn't look like much but it was delicious and very filling.
