This Summer, discover some of Bendigo's delicious secrets, meet the passionate food heroes and hear their enriching stories.Be treated to food and beverage tastings and walk away with your very own food goodies.The Food Fossicker Foodie Tour highlights Bendigo's thriving foodie culture and aligns with the ethos of the established Food Fossicker Central Victorian Food Trade Network.The Food Fossickers are a network of regional food businesses that are passionate about supporting the local food industry. It's about encouraging food lovers to seek out local tastes, watch those food miles and support small, passionate producers.All are invited to come and tour beautiful Bendigo's best-loved foodie treasures.You can taste your way around an artisan chocolate shop, dreamy ice creamery, sourdough bakery, Italian delicatessen, a whole foods fun emporium and an uber cool restaurant. In this tour, participants will:Meet the makers and hear their storiesSample handcrafted treatsFill your tour bag with gifts from each venue (participants will visit 5 venues per tour)Enjoy a light lunch of local produce and tasting glass of regional wineEach tour has a maximum of 8 participants so it is an intimate tour, which allows participants to really interact with the food hero and learn more about the story behind each place.Tours operate each Saturday from 10am until 12.45pm, departing from the Bendigo Visitor Centre (please arrive 9.45am sharp).Private group bookings are available, require three weeks' notice and are bookable Tuesday to Saturday - subject to availability.
